
CNU International Winter School
The CNU International Winter School offers students from Chonnam National University and partner universities around the world a meaningful opportunity for academic and cultural exchange.
This 4-week program, led by distinguished professors from CNU and other leading universities, allows students to earn up to 2 credits while forming genuine friendships across cultures. Korean and international participants learn, travel, and explore Gwangju and other regions of Korea together, gaining a deeper understanding of the country’s authentic culture and building lifelong global networks.
Program Period: February 3 - February 26, 2026
Courses Offered
- CNU offers Korean language courses in two levels: Basic and Intermediate.
- Students may select the appropriate level during the application process based on their Korean proficiency.
* Please note: Once the application is submitted, changes to the selected class will NOT be permitted.
- Class Format: In-person sessions, 1 session of 3 hours per day (In total of 30 hours)
- Course Credit: 2 credits

- The program fee includes course fees, dormitory accommodation, and cultural activity expenses (including lodging, transportation rental, and partial meal coverage).
- As part of the partnership agreement with your home university, the tuition fees are waived for students from partner institutions.

Refund Process
- Please send an email entitled “Refund Request” to cnuis@jnu.ac.kr.
- Once the email is received, the program fee that you paid can be refunded, minus the application fee and related bank charges.

- It will take approximately 2 to 3 weeks from the date of request.
Payment
- An invoice will be sent to students or institutions via email after completion of nomination and/or application.
- CNU has partnered with Flywire to streamline the winter program fee payment process for international students. Flywire offers multiple payment options and currencies. Students and payers will be able to track their payments from start to finish, save on bank fees and exchange rates.
- Students can contact Flywire's 24/7 multilingual customer support by chat, Skype, e-mail, and telephone. CNU and Flywire do not charge a fee for the customer service.
CNU Buddy Program
- The CNU Buddy Program pairs 4 incoming students with 2 CNU students per group.
- This helps incoming students adjust smoothly to life in Korea, with support from local peers.
- Through the program, students build lasting friendships, experience Korean campus life firsthand, and explore the country safely and confidently.
- The program encourages meaningful cultural exchange and helps both groups grow through shared experiences.
Accommodation: On-Campus Housing
- Students will stay in a specially designed student residence hall located within a 10-minute walk of the lecture halls. Each room is shared with a roommate and furnished with separate beds, closets, and desks.
- Facilities: Reading Room, Computer Room, Washroom & Shower, Lounge, Ping-pong Room, Ironing Room, Fitness Room
