ADD A GLOSSARY

A glossary is a very useful tool for displaying terms and definitions in a dictionary style format. You can create a global glossary on your landing page or include a glossary in any course.


Before You Begin

  • Decide on a name for your glossary.

Begin

  • Click the Edit this Page button to turn on Editing Mode. If you are placing your Glossary in a course, display the page in the course where the Glossary activity should appear and then click the Manage Activities tab.
  • In the middle column of your landing page, or toward the top of your course page, select Glossary from the Add an activity dropdown. A form to help you create your new Glossary activity will display.

  • Type a name for your Glossary.

  • Type a description of your Glossary.

  • Take a look at the options beneath the Description. The settings below work well in most cases.
Recommended Settings
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Save and Return to Course button.
  • Select the name of your Glossary from the Add an Existing Activity dropdown.
  • You will see your new Glossary in the middle column. Click the title to begin adding entries.
